Why Us

Sized for the Roof Above

A gutter carries whatever the roof above it sheds, so the run, the outlets, and where the water lands are all worked out first.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Watch them in the next hard rain. Water sheeting over the front edge, a run that sags or holds a puddle after the rain stops, seams or end caps that drip, gutters pulling away from the fascia, and a trench of washed-out mulch or soil under the roof edge all say the system is done. A wet basement corner after every storm, or a gutter that came down with the ice last winter, settles it.

Six steps, most of them in a single visit. We measure the roofline at a free consultation and send a written estimate, the gutter is rolled on site from one long strip of aluminum with no join in the run, the old gutters come down, the fascia behind them gets checked and any rotten soffit and fascia is replaced, the new runs are hung and sloped to drain, and the downspouts and extensions go on last.

Length and height first. How many feet of gutter, the number of stories, five-inch versus six-inch runs, how many downspouts the roof needs, any fascia repair behind the old gutters, and the color you pick all play a part. The heavier aluminum and the oversized downspouts we fit as standard go on every run as standard.

No, and replacing them will not cure one. Ice dams form when heat escaping into the attic melts snow that refreezes at the cold roof edge, so the fix is air sealing and insulation above the ceiling. What new gutters do is survive the ice instead of tearing off with it. If a new roof is going on, the gutters are hung right after the shingles.

Most houses are finished in a day. A large two-story roofline, fascia that needs replacing first, or guards added to every run can push it into a second day, and heavy rain or ice pauses the work. Bloomington and Shakopee say in writing that gutters alone need no permit, and we confirm with the other cities.
