Why Us
Re-siding a St. Louis Park house means passing the city's own inspector, twice. Every roofing and siding job needs a permit here, and before any home sells a city inspector checks that the siding, roof, and garage meet the property maintenance code, so exterior condition is a resale requirement rather than a preference. Sixty percent of the homes went up between 1946 and 1954, most of them story-and-a-half bungalows on thirty-to-forty-foot lots.

In the Area
Most of the city's neighborhoods went up in the same few years, so the details repeat from Brookside to Texa-Tonka. Bungalows near Minnehaha Creek in Brookside and Browndale sit close to their neighbors under old elms, which means scaffolding and staging inside a narrow side yard, while the Lake Forest and Westwood Hills ramblers spread out on lots two and three times that size. The August 2023 hail crossed the city as well.

Questions
The full exterior of the house, bungalow or not. That covers James Hardie siding, new siding, new gutters, soffit and fascia work, roof replacement, hail repairs, vinyl siding, engineered wood siding, roof repair, replacement windows, and entry doors.
A story-and-a-half bungalow from just after the war, with two bedrooms downstairs and a finished attic, on a lot the village approved at thirty or forty feet wide against its planners' advice. That means original wood windows, a low knee wall upstairs that makes ice dams common, and a side yard too narrow for a truck, so every project is planned around access before it is planned around materials.
It makes deferred siding and roof problems a closing problem. The point-of-sale inspection covers the siding, roof, and garage, and the certificate is due at closing, so sellers often call us to fix what the report flagged. The city also asks contractors for their state license when the permit is pulled.
Replace the rotten wood, wrap the fascia in aluminum, and hang vented soffit that gives the attic intake air it never had. On a story-and-a-half house that ventilation matters more than usual, because the sloped ceiling upstairs leaves little room for insulation. Soffit and fascia work needs no permit in most of the metro, and we confirm with the city first.
They change the staging, not the result. With a neighbor's wall a few feet away, ladders and scaffolding go up inside the side yard and the old siding comes down in sections rather than all at once, and dust control matters because the windows next door are close. The siding itself goes on over a weatherproof layer with metal above every opening the same as anywhere, and the city inspects that layer before it is covered.
Tell us what the inspector flagged or what has worn out, and a free in-home consultation is the next step. The written estimate covers materials, labor, and timing, and the city's permit and inspection steps are built into it.
